Collaboration Space Founder: Bill Warner of Warner Research
Warner Research, LLC is a small development firm started by Bill Warner, founder of Avid Technology, Inc and Wildfire Communications, Inc. Before leaving the Brickyard Collaboration Space, Warner Research had been focused on advanced online mapping, 3d and archiving systems.
Warner Research hired Agog, Inc. a Michigan-based technology firm to develop MapsOverTime a system for comparing historic maps of Boston. This was featured at the Mapping Boston II exhibit at the Massachusetts State House last year.
Agog extended the system to handle GIS maps, online printing of large maps, and 3d display of terrain and buildings. The resulting product, MapJunction, - the official online mapping server for the Boston Atlas -- the City of Boston's official online mapping resource. The MapJunction system is now a joint project of Warner Research and Agog.
When Bill Warner first leased the space in the Brickyard Office Park building, located @ 86 Sherman Street, he knew it was too big for himself. But his vision was to build out an architecturally satisfying floor plan, carving out a variety of comfortable work spaces, where he would conduct his own business from, and then seek to fill it with lots of interesting people doing synergistic things. And the space has been doing just that, ever since.
